Closet updates: Everyday Handbag

Hello everyone,

As promised this post is a new addition to my closet updates series. This time we are talking handbag!

Handbags and shoes are the hardest things for  me to shop because I just don’t like anything (although lately I am loving way too many things and I just can’t afford all of them L). For a long time I was just using pharmacy tote bags (I have one from Caudalie that is slowly dying from the abuse) and a bag that I got from thiros a couple of years ago, so I thought that it was time for an update. One day that we went shopping with my aunt, we jumped into a Zara store and then I found this little gem. It is a classic messenger bag that has the perfect size as it is big enough to fit my notebooks for my classes and my “necessities” (although I really do not need everything that there is in there) but is not overwhelming big which is great for my back since I am the ultimate over packer. The color was exactly what I was looking for because it goes with everything and I can where it all year long. Ialso love the gold detailsas well. The coolest thing about this bag, though. is that you can wear it on your shoulder or you can convert the strap differently and wear it as a backpack, which is not something that I do quite often because it is very easy for other people to open the bag without me realizing anything and since I’ve been in Athens they have already stole a phone from me so I need to be extra careful! My other bag broke, so until I get it fixed I am just using this one in a daily base and I don’t really have anything bad to say about it. I just wish it had more compartments because it only has one in which I have all of my feminine staff and my little “pharmacy” (because I am studying pharmaceuticals at the end of the day, got to be prepared)!!! The price tag is something that made me love it even more because it only costs 30€ which is a complete bargain for a bag like this one!!

So what do you think about it? What is your favorite type of bag?

closet updates: boyfriend jeans

t-shirt: Topshop, Shoes: Converse, cardigan: Stradivarius (similar), bag: Zara

t-shirt: Topshop, shoes: Tamaris (similar), leather jacket: Mango

Hello everyone,

So a couple of weeks ago I started a fashion series that had to leave behind for a little while due to some “technical” issues!!! Because that’s what happens when you forget your camera charger in your parents’ house in Corfu!

In this post I’m going to talk about my new favorite jeans. They are the perfect boyfriend jeans for me since they are loose enough but not too baggy. The fabric is so soft and stretchy that doesn’t even feel like denim and is super comfortable. Another thing, that I love about it, is the dark denim color that it has and makes it quite versatile. I wear them all the time on uni but I also rock them on nights out. For every day I grab a t-shirt (this one is one that I stole from a friend of mines), my oversized cardigan and I look put together. For my more night time look I cracked out my black pumps (read my post about them here), a big gold chain and my trusty leather jacket (post about it is coming soon) and I am ready to hit the dance floor!!

All in all, these jeans are a great pair of pants that I can take from day to night and I know that they look good and I going to be comfortable on them. I got them from Massimo Dutti, they costed 56€ and they worth every cent.

What do you think about them? Have you bought anything lately to update your closet?

Closet updates: Black pumps

Hello everyone,

Before I get to the post I feel like I need to apologise for not posting for so long. I moved from Corfu to Athens for university and I didn’t have internet connection for about a month. And to be honest even if I had I didn’t have a laptop up until a few days ago. But I am back for good now and although I have a very busy schedule I will try my best to upload two blogposts a week.

Now on the main subject. I am not talking a lot about fashion and that is because on my high school days I wasn’t the most fashionable person. Now that I’m going to Uni I want to update my style a little bit. Being a student though, I obviously can’t buy a whole new wardrobe, so what I want is to buy a few staple pieces that will update any outfits I already have.

First it was my night time wardrobe. In high school I never used to go clubbing mostly because I prefer cuddling in a blanket watching YouTube videos. This is why I only have one pair of heels which are actually sandals so I can’t wear them in the winter. For this reason, I had to buy a pair of winter heels and I found the perfect pair the other day.

They are the most beautiful black pumps with an ankle strap and a detail strap. It is an all time classic piece that I see myself wearing for a lot of years. Simple, elegant, chic and very feminine, a pair of heels that is perfect for my style or at least what I want to be my style. They go with everything so I can make any outfit night time appropriate and dress up my more casual looks. I haven’t worn them out yet, but I can already tell that I’ll get a lot of use out of them. In addition, they look gorgeous  on, as they elongate my legs. They are just so very flattering and, surprisingly, they are not as uncomfortable as I was expecting them to be, so this is a plus too.

I got this pair for 40€, since there was a 50% discount, but I couldn’t find the exact pair online because I think it is sold out. I found a very similar pair in a very similar price, though.

What do you think about them? What are your wardrobe updates for the new season?

Hello everyone,

You know how everyone has this one handbag that works with absolutely any outfit. I found mine in a tourist shop in Corfu. It is a small brown leather shoulder bag. The size of it is perfect because it really limits me and I can’t overpack but it still fits everything that I really need (phone, keys, cash, lipstick and out of the door). It has a beautiful detail as closure of the bag that makes it quite safe as well. To prove you that it goes with everything I have prepared three outfits. Enjoy!

Top: H&M (similar), Shorts: local store (similar), Shoes: Converse, Cardigan: Zara

Your standard navy and white striped top, that my whole family has but for some reason I cannot find it online, paired with some light denim shorts. For shoes I usually wear my white converse and I have to take a jacket with me at this time of the year because in Corfu it is freaking windy. Super casual, classic!

Dress: Pink woman (similar), Jacket: Stradivarious, Sandals: EXE

I love dresses so much that this year they were pretty much all I was wearing. I especially like bodycon dresses because I feel that they make my figure look better, petite but with an idea of curves. I got this striped one from a store called pink woman. I paired it with my beloved EXE sandals and a jean jacket that I got last year from Stradivarius.

DSCN0571 (2)

Dress: Lynne (similar), Shoes: Migato (similar)

I got this dress last year for a wedding and I absolutely love it. It drapes beautifully and it looks like something that women would wear in ancient Greece. Just to enhance that ancient Greek look I paired it with some gold bangles that I stole from my best friend (Shhh don’t tell her). For shoes I picked my nude suede sandal high-heels, that I made the tragic mistake to wear in a ridiculous crowed club and now they are not so nude any more.

I got this bag for 60€, which is quite pricey, but considering how much I’ve worn it, it worths every penny. I obviously couldn’t find this exact one but I have found a few in a similar style (1, 2, 3, 4)!

Do you have any bag that works as a multitasker!?!

August favorites 2015

Hello everyone,

August is over so I thought it is time to talk about my monthly favorites. I have a good mix of beauty, fashion and random things that I’ve been loving this past month, so let’s get started.

GARNIER BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Combination to oily skin: This is the only base that I’ve been using this past month and to be honest the whole summer. It is so lightweight that you can’t feel it on your skin, although it provides decent coverage. In the summertime, I want my skin to look as natural as possible, so this one is perfect because it covers a lot of imperfections yet it lets my skin show through. It has a beautiful semi- matte finish that throughout the day looks more like a satin, which means that I don’t have to use a lot of powder. It lasts for quite a while on the skin, although after a few hours it tends to fade in the center of the face.

SEPHORA COLLECTION Outrageous Volume Dramatic Volume Waterproof: I’ve been using this mascara for a while, but I realized how much I loved it by the end of the month when I run out of it and I had to go back to Mabelline The Falsies. The falsies mascara used to be my favorite, but now compared to the Sephora one I find it a little bit crappy. It gives so much volume, it’s ridiculous, and it does a good job at giving length as well. Since it is waterproof it holds the curl really good. All in all, it is freaking amazing!! The only problem is at night when I need to take it off  and I have to massage my eyes for like 10 minutes!

Max Factor Crème Puff Blush in Seductive Pink: I was eyeing this blush for a long time, but it wasn’t until recently that they brought them in Corfu. It  gives the most amazing glow to the skin without it being glittery at all. The color is beautiful too. At the beginning I was a little bit hesitant because when I swatched it looked too cool toned and I didn’t know if it would work with my olive skin, but it just gives a nice flush to the cheeks. The formula is great as well, very pigmented yet so blendable.

Sephora Professionnel Classic All Over Shadow Brush – Small #22: I have this brush for over a year now so my favorite isn’t really this one specifically but the way that I am now using it. In the past I was only using it to apply eyeshadow on the crease and blend. For the lid I liked to apply the eyeshadow with a packing brush, but now I like to do a wash of color with a more fluffy brush. It gives you an eyeshadow look in a second!!

H&M sleeveless chiffon dress: This spring my aunt went in Italy and she got me this dress. Even though I have it for a long time, I only start wearing it this month, because in June I had a lot of  exams, so I didn’t really went out a lot and in July I couldn’t wear it because it was too big.  Now that it got fixed I wear it in every opportunity. In the model it looks kind of short, but I am quite short, so it is midi on me.

EXE sandals: I have dedicated a whole blogpost about these babes. I love them so much that I can’t take them off. I bought a pair of converse recently and I haven’t worn them yet because I am always wearing my sandals. This shows a lot, don’t you think?!

I am one of the biggest Ed Sheeran fans and since he is not releasing any music until next summer I have to compromise with songs that he is featured in.

Growing up- Maclemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Ed Sheeran: I am obsessed with this one. It has a similar sound with the song Same love and I am not complaining about it. Especially Ed’s part… Yes yes yes!!!

Dark times- The weeknd ft. Ed Sheeran: I learned about this song from a Lucy Hale’s Instagram photo and she said it was great. She was right!! In that I have to add sexy, so very sexy!! And at the end of the day it is cool to see Ed a little bit dark cause honestly, it looks like he hasn’t got even one cell that is dark…!

The passage by Justin Cronin: My bestfriend had this book and she said that I would like it so I started reading it. I have a love/ hate relationship with this book. I think that the storyline is a little too much (he has taken the science fiction to a new level), but it really grabs you. Although I am not a sci-fi kind of girl, but it is so well written that I couldn’t stop reading it. It is massive (1054 pages, what!), so if you aren’t a big reader, then it will take you a while to finish it. Especially two parts of the book are so boring that I was very close to stop reading it. One at the beginning until the real action starts and the other one when the second part of the book begins. But once you go through those I think you will love it. I did and I am very exited to read the second book in the trilogy!!

So You Think You Can Dance: This is my favorite show of all times and it is the main reason why I am always excited for summer. This year the format has changed and it is  stage vs street, which it is very exciting nonetheless. The talent of the contestants is unreal and combined with the world-class choreographers that work with them it creates something very special. My favorite contestants are Gaby from team stage and JaJa from team street.  Now they are down to the top four and I am thinking of writing a post all about my favorite routines from this season, when it ends. What do you think of this idea??

So those were all of my favorites for this month. What are your August favorites??

My Ideal sandals

Hello everyone,

For the past couple of summers I’ve been trying to find the perfect pair of summer sandals, but I’ve been failing miserably. I was just buying some cheap ones because there was nothing that I really loved. The shops were full of sandals with huge white soles which to be honest, I thoroughly dislike (I don’t really like the word hate, it’s too harsh) and the ones that I liked were insanely overpriced (cause I’m not paying 70 € for a pair of sandals).

But one day I came up with a pair that at the beginning I was a little bit hesitant about, but the more I look at them the more I fall in love with them. They are brown, but they have a little bit of leather print and a small green detail. So although they are very neutral and they go with pretty much everything, they still are a quite interesting.  There is a white sole on the bottom, but is very subtle so I don’t mind it. Plus, it gives me a little bit of height since I am very short. The thing that I like the most about them, though, is that they are super comfortable so I can walk on them all day and don’t have to worry about pain or blisters!

The shoes are from the Greek brand Tsakiris Mallas and specifically from their exe line. I bought them from a shop in Corfu, but you can get them from a lot of other stores all across Greece and they also have an online store, as well. Although the company is in Greece I contacted them and they told me that they ship worldwide, so you can buy them, regardless where you live.

This pair was initially 47€ but I got them discounted for 39€.

What do you think of them? What style of sandals do you like the most in the summertime?
