new lipsticks

Hello everyone,

As you may or may not know, my biggest obsession is lipsticks and especially bright ones. It has become my signature and whenever I am not wearing one, my friends think that something is wrong. I thought that my lipstick collection needed a little bit of an upgrade for the summertime, so today I am going to be talking about some new ones I got.

  • Sephora cream lip stain in 10 Mandarin Muse: I have already done a review on this liquid lipstick and as you can see in that blog post I bloody love it. So, I picked up another shade. This one is a really neon true orange shade which I think is so much fun for summer and it looks really pretty with a tan. I do find this color, though, to be a little bit patchy, because it is a lot brighter, but paired with a lip liner underneath, it is beautiful. Perfect if you want to make a statement.

  • MAC Lipstick in Costa Chic: I love the color of this one, not so much the formulation. It is a frost which means that it is very creamy and pigmented and it has some shimmer. I came to the conclusion that the creamy formulas from MAC are not for me. I prefer the mattes a lot more. I find this one to be a bit patchy and it sits on the lines of my lips, which is not very flattering. The color is the brightest coral I ever come across with a little bit of shimmer, which is not what I usually go for, but it is very fine and catches the light beautifully. I like to apply it with dabbing motions and then pat it with my finger and this way it sits a lot nicer on my lips. I think it is the perfect summer lipstick if you have a tan, but I don’t think this one would look so great in very pale people because it may wash you out.

  • Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in 50 Nude Thrill: Another liquid lipstick, but very different from the first one. First of all, the formula is very different from your standard liquid lipstick on the sense that it sets into a matte finish but it still is creamy as a usual lipstick. It isn’t completely full proof like the Sephora one. It does smear after eating, drinking or kissing and after a few hours of wear it will fade, but it stays put for a while. Now about the color, it is very different for me. I very first tried it from my sister, Elena, that had it and I absolutely fell in love. I can wear any crazy color on my lips, but for some reason when it comes to nude I am very self-conscious. This one, though, is great. It is the perfect balance between brown and pink, with a peachy undertone. It is a color that suits so many skin tones, from very pale, like my sister, to a lot darker like me. Depending on the skin tone, though, it is going to look different.

Those are the lipsticks I bought for summer, so far. Have you tried any of them? Is there any lipsticks you would like me to try?
