Hello everyone,

Long time no blog, but today I am here with a big one. A really long time ago somebody asked me in the comments to do a post about concealers, but at the time I really couldn’t because for the last a lot of year there was only one concealer that I was really using, which was “Maybelline Fit Me”. But this Christmas when I went to repurchase it, I couldn’t find it anywhere… And then I found out that Maybelline discontinued it, at least in Greece. I’m not going to lie, I almost cried (the employee was pretty freaked out #dramaqueen). So, in desperate need of concealer, I tried quite a few and here I am with my final thoughts.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: It was my favorite for a reason and although it is discontinued here in Greece I know for sure it is not everywhere. To be honest, I had almost forgotten how amazing it was until my sister bought a tube, while she was in Germany before Easter, and after all this time I used it again. First of all, it has great medium coverage that can be built up to full coverage. It is worth mentioning that all these days I was using it I had exceptionally good makeup days, when I had pretty bad skin days. The formula is incredible, it is very creamy and it blends like a dream. It is very moisturizing so it doesn’t cling in dry areas. On me products tent to slip off, but when I powder it a little bit it lasts pretty much all day. In addition, the color is one of my favorite assets and what makes it for me irreplaceable so far. It has a very neutral yellow tone which cancels out any redness or blemish, yet it still covers and brightens up the under eye area without making it look grey. Plus, I have a perfect match for me (number 20) which means that I can use it on its own without a foundation and not look blotchy. It has a doe-foot applicator, which is a love hate thing, cause it does make it so easy to apply but is not very sanitary. Having to say goodbye to it was very hard and I almost miss it more than I miss my parents.

Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin: The girl on Sephora told me that she is using this one as a replacement for the “Fit Me” but honestly this one doesn’t have my heart. Firstly, it is creamy but it is definitely a lot more runny that the first one, which makes it a lot lighter not just in texture but also in coverage. The main problem that I have with this one though is the color. It has a very strong pink undertone which makes it perfect to cover my horrendous dark circles, but an absolute nightmare when it comes to cover up pimples. The good thing is that it is quite moisturizing, so it feels really comfortable throughout the day and it doesn’t accentuate any dry patches on my skin. Now as far as lasting power goes, it’s not bad but it’s not great either. I mean at the end of the day it does crease underneath the eyes and it fades from my face. The tube is quite nice and sanitary but I am quite crap at using it so I end up squeezing too much and waste a tone of products.

Bourjoir Healthy Mix: First of all, I have to mention that my sister bought this one and she is fairer than me, so in the beginning it looked really off on my face. Now that all of my summer tan is gone for good I absolutely loved it. It is for sure an under eye concealer as it is very brightening. At the beginning, it looks way too bright but then it oxidizes a little bit and it looks great. It sets completely so it doesn’t need powdering at all and lasts all day long especially for people like my sister with dry skin that hate powder. On the rest of the face I don’t really like it because I it just accentuate dry areas of the skin.

Bourjoir 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream: Again a nice under eye concealer. It brings a lot of light on the area. The formula is very light and moisturizing, but it creases a lot on me so definitely need to powder it. It also settles in the lines underneath my eyes so I need to work it a little bit more, but other than that it blends so easily. Because of its formula I also love using it to highlight the rest of my face and occasionally I like to cover any redness on my face. It has quite an odd packaging, which I’m not sure I really love. It is a twist up pen and the product come out through a very thin vein up to a plastic nib. The problem is that it can get quite messy if you twist it too much and the fact that it broke and the rest of the product is now wasted is quite frustrating.  You also might want to be careful with the shade choice, if it’s to light it can look a bit grey when the dark circles are a bit prominent.

All in all, although I still cannot get over my “fit me” concealer, I have found some nice ones for underneath the eyes. Do you have any suggestions for good face concealers?

Hello everyone,

This Christmas my sister had absolutely no idea what to buy me as a gift so she decided we go to a mac counter in order to choose a lipstick myself!! Now I won’t lie, this took me absolutely ages but I decided to go for the color Flat Out Fabulous.

It is a beautiful red fuchsia with a very strong purple undertone. I have olive skin and it is very flattering but I think that it would suit a lot of other skin tones, as well. Surprisingly, it doesn’t make my teeth too yellow which is always good. Although it is a very bright color, because it is darker, due to the red and purple hues, it is quite a sophisticated almost fuchsia that is total wearable in a daily basis on work or uni. At least I wear it!! It is a retro matte, which scared at the beginning but I am really digging now. It is so matte that it looks almost powdery in a really good way. It is super pigmented and it goes on the lips very smoothly and evenly in a really thin layer. Although it is so matte, it is not uncomfortable at all at the beginning, but throughout the day it does absorb all of the moister from your lips so you might want to apply some kind of lip balm on top. It lasts all day and what I have noticed is that when eating it doesn’t smear all over my face but it fades very evenly and doesn’t look awkward because it leaves a stain behind so there’s still color on the lips.

All in all, I am so glad that I picked it up because although I wasn’t expecting to get a lot of use out of it, I wear it all the time and the fact that I get complements from my male friends every time I wear it, makes me love it even more.

What do you think about the color? Do you have any other recommendations?

the body shop haul and review

Hello everyone,

So recently I was roaming around the shops with a friend of mines and we stepped into a Body Shop store and I left with a couple of product that to be honest I wasn’t even planning on buying! But I am using them for a while now so I thought I would share my opinion about them.

  1. The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil (14.00€)

I first heard about this product from Amelia Liana, because there was a time when she couldn’t stop raving about it. So I thought I need to check it out and I went in The Body Shop store in Corfu where one of the rudest employee I‘ve ever met told me that there is not such thing and I confused the products. That day though when we were passing with my friend from the store here in Athens I saw a whole shelf with this product, so apparently she was wrong!! I got so excited that I finally found it and I grabbed a bottle without eventhinking about it, which I am very happy about! At the beginning, I was a little bit scared about it because I thought it would have more of a gel texture, but it was an actual oil. With the breakouts that I had at the time I didn’t know if it was a good idea to put an oil on my face. Thankfully it worked just great.

All you have to do is to apply it straight to your dry face and give it a good message (the more you work it on your face the better) and it breaks down makeup like a dream. Then you rinse it with a lot of water and you are done. It manages to take of my waterproof mascara so easily without having to rube my eyes for 10 minutes, which is something that I really appreciate. It leaves my skin a lot cleaner than usual as I don’t have hardly any makeup residue and I feel like that is one of the products that help my skin get lot better after its crisis. It leaves it very moisturized but definitely not greasy. The only disadvantage for me is the smell because I really I am not a fan of chamomile but it isn’t that annoying after all and I haven’t noticed any irritations from it. Oh, and the packaging which I liked because of the pump but one day I took it to my friend’s house and it leached everywhere.

  1. The Body Shop Honey Matte Bronzer in 05 Dark Golden Matte (14.50€)

I’ve been eyeing this for a while but I couldn’t justify buying it since I had a bronzer. Then the one I was using broke, but I thought I would try contouring but I really wasn’t into it. So when I got into the store for the cleansing oil, it seems like I did one of the best impulse buys in a while. First of all, how amazing is the packaging. The honey brown color and the beehive design are just gorgeous. But the product itself is actually what I love the most. The color is just perfect, warms the face without being orange at all, but is cool enough to give definition or contour if you want. Although it says the finish is matte I would say is more of a satin because it definitely gives that bronze glow to the skin and it doesn’t look flat by any means. The formula is great, as well, as it has the perfect pigmentation and you don’t have to worry about applying to much!

All in all, I had never tried anything from The Body Shop that isn’t body related, so I didn’t really knew what to expect from those to, but the overall conclusion is that they are excellent and they look a lot more expensive than they are and I highly recommend them. I definitely want to try more products from the brand now!

What are your favorite products from the brand?

CLINIQUE moisture surge extended thirst relief

Hello everyone,

When I came in Athens my skin had a massive shock. The combination of the different environment and a lot of stress about my new life wasn’t very good for my skin. It became so dry that you could see the patches and at some point my skin started to peel. On top of that I was breaking out as if my acne was back. And although it was in such a bad condition, skincare was the last think I was thinking about, especially since I run out of the moisturizer that I was using. One day I saw on TV that Sephora had an offer on the CLINΙQUE moisture surge extended thirst relief for 15€ (BARGAIN!!) and I went to pick it up that same day.

First of all, I have to say that the employee that was at the CLINIQUE counter was so very nice and helpful compared to the ones in Corfu. Now about the product, right when I got it I started using it day and night and it completely changed the texture of my skin. After about a week my dry patches were gone and now although my skin is still on the drier side is a lot more balanced. It gives a lot of moisture on my face without making it greasy. It is great underneath makeup mainly because it locks the moisture and makeup don’t feel very uncomfortable throughout the day. It didn’t really help me clean my face from the break outs but it definitely didn’t cause me any new ones and hydrating my face helps anyways. It has a cooling  gel texture that feels absolutely amazing in the day time and I feel like it is suitable for all skin types.

I am loving it so much that I only have it for 3 weeks and I‘m almost out of it, which I am not very happy about because now I need to pay 30€ fora new pot!!!

Maybelline Master sculpt contouring

Hello everyone,

Once again I’m doing a review that should have been up a really long time ago!!! This time is about the Maybelline Master Sculpt Contouring that I hauled ages ago!!!

Out of everything that I got that day this is the one thing that I keep trying over and over again because I can’t form a proper opinion about it. Do I like it or not? After over a month of using it I still can’t decide. But let’s take things from the beginning.

First is the contour. When I very first started using it, I hated it. I found that it was too powdery and not blendable enough so it ended up looking very patchy. It did have though some good things about it like the pigmentation, which was just right. Pigmented enough, but not too much, so you can build it up and not look like a clown. The color as well is really nice because it is grey so it gives amazing definition yet it doesn’t look moody. I have the color medium/ dark and it worked really nice, as in order to get very dark I have to build it up.

Because of these things I thought I should try it again and I realized that the reason why it was so hard to blend it was because I wasn’t powdering my face. Once I start doing that it went a lot smoother on my face. And I kind of liked how it looked, but I wasn’t completely happy with it.

About the highlighter, all I have to say is that it is fine. Neither good or bad, just very average. It is powdery like the contour and although it is very settle and it is not going to give you a whole lot of glow you can still see some shimmer particles. But all in all it is not terrible. It gives a little something and it has a golden hue to it which I appreciate, but it’s not an impressive product at all.

To conclude, I think that it is a very average product that could actually be a good alternative if you like contouring and you are on budget, because it is very cheap (I can’t find the exact price because I lost the receipt, but is around 12 euros!). And maybe if you want to try out contouring but you are not sure, it is a very harmless choice for your bank account!! And now I am actually talking about myself because I came to the conclusion that I am not a big fan of contouring and maybe this is the reason why I didn’t enjoy it as much!! I love my bronzing!!!

Do you prefer contouring or bronzing? Have you tried this product? What do you think about it?

Hello everyone,

So this review was a long time coming!!! I finally found a product to make my brows look good and this product is the L’OREAL Artist Brow Plumper, that really makes my brows the way I want the to be.

At the beginning I had a hard time with it because the very first time I used it, it looked like I was going for the disco brows, which was definately not the case!!! That happened because I had used way to much product, so the key to this brow gel is not to use too much of it and take most of the product out on the top of the bottle.

Once I realized that, I really start loving it. I like to use it either on its own to make my brow look put together when I’m not wearing a lot of makeup or apply it on top of the powder. When I use it on its own it just gives enough color to define my brows and not look like I have none. When I use a powder underneath I like it even more and that is because: a. it makes my brows look more natural making them more fluffy, b. it keeps the powder in place all day, which is something that never happens on my face. This product keeps my eyebrows looking the way that I want them all day long without making them crispy at all.

Before I try it, I thought that it was a very unnecessary product and that I didn’t need it, but now I feel like it is a must have for me. Thankfully, it is a very affordable product, it only costs around 7€ and I only have to use a small amount so it will last me for a while.

Have you tried it? What was your opinion of the product?

Miraculous hair product

Hello everyone,

I came up with a hair product, recently, that changed the game for my hair. The GARNIER Fructis Miraculous oil express brushing is a hair oil that works wonders for my hair in so many different ways. It has a very light texture, so it doesn’t weigh my hair down and it is absorbed instantly. Although, it is so lightweight, it hydrates my hair, leaving them very healthy, soft and shiny.  It also works as a great detangler making my very knotty hair easy to brush. In addition, it prevents my hair from frizzing, which is awesome for as long I am still in Corfu cause it’s annoyingly humid in here. Last but certainly not least, this oil is a heat protectant as well, having up to 230¤ thermal protection. It is ideal for all hair types since I love it that I have very fine greasy hair and my sister loves it who has very thick dry hair.

All in all, this product is a real multitasker taking care of your hair without having to lair a hundred of products! The best thing about it though is the price tag, cause you can get this bad boy for about 8€ for 150ml. Bargain!!

Have you tried this product? What do you think about it?
